What is HEIC, and why convert it to PDF?
HEIC is the default photo format on iPhones since iOS 11. It keeps files small, but many apps, websites, and Windows PCs cannot open it. PDF, on the other hand, opens everywhere — and it bundles many photos into a single document that is easy to share or print.
Why did one of my HEIC files fail to convert?
HEIF is a container that can hold different codecs and features, and no browser decoder supports every variant. Photos shot on an iPhone in the standard HEVC format work reliably. If one file fails, open it on your iPhone and share it as a JPEG (or set Camera → Formats → Most Compatible), then convert that.
Do my photos keep their quality and orientation?
Yes. Each photo is decoded at full resolution and written as a high-quality JPEG (92% quality), with the stored rotation applied automatically. The PDF then embeds those images without any further recompression.
